Robb Ellis Biography

Robb Ellis is an American meteorologist who is the weekend evening meteorologist for CBS 2 Chicago. He joined the station in July 2017. 

Robb Ellis Career

Ellis started his television career at WFMY in Greensboro, North Carolina, as a weekend meteorologist. He has since been the lead meteorologist of several weather teams in the Midwest and Carolinas. In hurricane alley, Ellis led the weather team at WECT in Wilmington, from 2009 to 2013. Ellis became the weekday evening meteorologist at WISH-TV in Indianapolis leading the coverage of snowstorms and tornado outbreaks, in 2013. In 2016, he went home to Columbia, S.C. to become the chief meteorologist for WIS.

When coming to his education, Ellis attended the University of South Carolina before transferring to North Carolina State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. Before his television career, Ellis worked as a climate scientist and programmer for the climate offices in North and South Carolina.
