Rosalia Fodera Biography

Rosalia Fodera is an American Anchor/Multi-Media Journalist working for WRAL-TV where she serves the station as a Streaming Anchor. She has been working with the station in Raleigh, North Carolina since July 2022.

She is a proud graduate of Emerson College where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Journalism. She later joined Campbell University Divinity School where she obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Ministry.

Fodera works with WRAL-TV where she serves the station as a Streaming Anchor. Prior to WRAL-TV, she was working in Florence, South Carolina where she began her first on-air TV job working with WPDE. In the course of her career, she has covered over 15 countries from the station’s bureau location as a Multimedia Journalist. Later on, after two years, she went on to move North two hours and joined WRAL ad the first Breaking News Tracker reporter in the year 2018. She then returned to WRAL in order to help launch WRAL News+.

Among her most memorable assignments include Hurricane Matthew. She explains that the stories she shared about the destruction and the rebuilding will remain with her for the rest of her life. Asides from that, this was a memorable adventure to start at WRAL during Hurricane Florence and cover Lumberton, North Carolina. Asides from this, she has covered the 88th Academy Awards and the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards for WEBN while she was in Emerson College.

Away from work, she enjoys photographing her family and friend and discovering the best coffee shops for an iced latte. She also enjoys exploring different parts of the city on weekends. Her favorite book happens to be anything that has to do with true crime.

She explains that her library is filled with crime stories but when it comes to movies she loves laughing and hates being scared. Rosalia states that what she likes most about North Carolina are the people that make the place special and the beautiful weather. Asides from this, she loves being close to the beach and mountains.

Rosalia Fodera Awards and Recognition

In the course of her career, she has received a number of awards and recognitions. The year 2021 saw her being made an Emmy nominee in the “Newscast/Weekend” category for reporting on peaceful protests following the death of George Floyd.

Asides from this, in the year 2020, she was the Emmy Award winner for, “the Best Breaking News” category. This was for reporting on Hurricane Florence. Fodera has also received the RTDNA Christopher Mahoney Business Journalism Award in 2016 and Boston Globe Scholarship Art & Writing Awards-Golden Key in 2012.
