Scott Swan Illness/Cancer
Swan had a near-death experience in April 2016 after a terrifying health scare. He had internal bleeding that caused him to lose 50% of his blood after he anchored a newscast for hours. Swan had experienced pain for a few days but ignored it.
On April 16, 2016, the pain intensified and he decided to go to the hospital. He then went into an ER. After a CAT scan, doctors found that he was bleeding into his stomach and bleeding to death. However, they couldn’t find the treason for the bleeding. Thus, he was to be transferred to another hospital via an ambulance.
While he was in the ambulance, Swan said that he was not in pain and felt God’s presence with him. They reached Saint Vincent’s Hospital where Dr. Irwin took him to the OR. The doctor was concerned about him since his blood pressure was low making it hard to get enough blood flow to the brain. He tried to find the bleeding artery using a catheter. However, he discovered that Swan had stopped bleeding. Upon further inspection, he saw some arteries inside that were not normal.
Swan was in intensive care since there was no need for surgery. A coil was inserted into his artery to prevent further bleeding. He stayed at the hospital for 12 days before he went back home. The doctors found that Swan had a rare auto-immune disorder that attacked the arteries around his stomach. His CAT scans showed that arteritis/polyarteritis nodosum had completely gone away.
His story caught the attention of the Christian Broadcast Network. He shared the story on the “700 Club” Friday in November 2019. He gave credit for his miraculous health and well-being to Jesus Christ.
