Tamara Damante is an American Emmy Award-winning Anchor/Reporter known for working with KRCR ABC 7 News where she served the station as an Evening Anchor/Reporter. The Southern California native is a proud graduate of the University of San Diego where she obtained a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Theatre Arts. Damante now works with Police Media Relations/PIO serving the team as a PSPD Chief of Public Information.

Damante is known for working with KRCR ABC 7 news where she serves the station as an Evening Anchor/Reporter. While she was working for the San Diego Sports Arena on a Sports Magazine program called “Gulls in Flight.” There, she was reporting on the lives of the hockey players and their lives. Additionally, she was also working as an intern at KGTV-TV located in San Diego.
After her graduation, she was privileged to be hired by KGTV where she was serving the station as a producer and also spent the next year writing and producing family, financial, and health segments. The segments were broadcast on four McGraw-Hill television stations across the country.
She began her on-air carer at KTWO-TV located in Casper, Wyoming where she was producing and anchored “Good Morning Wyoming” and the K2 News at Noon. Asides from that, she states that she will never forget shoveling snow and driving to work at 3:30 AM in order to see a wild buck welcoming her in the station parking lot.
Later on, she made a stop in Palm Springs, California where she was working with KESQ News Channel 3. There, she spent about 9 years working as an evening anchor and reporter. Additionally, she also had a chance to cover a number of historic events which include President Bush’s visit to the desert and live coverage of the funeral of former President Gerald Ford and former first lady, Betty Ford. Asides from this, she also reported live on the red carpet every year at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, interviewing Hollywood’s top celebrities.
Among her most memorable moments was being twirled on the red carpet by one of her favorites, John Travolta, interviewing Clint Eastwood, and Leonardo DiCaprio. The year 2010 saw her do a red-carpet coverage and was nominated for an Emmy award.
The year 2009 also saw her receive her first Emmy Award for Tem Coverage of winter weather. Her first move to the North State was in the year 2013 when she was working as the main evening anchor for KHSL/KNVN.
The year 2015 also saw her move to Central Illinois where she spent about three years working as an anchor for the morning show. There, she was working with WAND-TODAY and WAND News at Noon. She is happy to be back to California, closer to her family and particularly in the North State where she met her husband. Away from work, she enjoys exploring the beautiful state, spoiling their 5 lb, Yorkie, Tally, and spending time with family and friends.
