Tom Terry Biography

Tom Terry is an American meteorologist working for WFTV serving as the Chief meteorologist. He has been working for the station since joining in 2002.

Terry serves as the Chief meteorologist at WFTV. Since starting his career, he has enclosed several extreme weather events that hit the headlines all across the states and beyond. He enclosed Hurricane Charley which was Central Florida’s first hurricane in over 40 years. He later on enclosed hurricanes Jeanne and Frances which also occurred in Central Florida.

Terry previously worked at WKMG News 6 where he also served as a meteorologist from June 1996 to April 2002. Prior to that, he worked at KBMT/K-JAC 12 News where he served as the Chief Meteorologist from October 1993 to June 1996 in Beaumont0-Port Arthur. Before that, he worked at Channel 6 Kris-TV where he served as a meteorologist for about 2 years and 2 months.

Terry went to the University of Oklahoma where he attained his degree in Meteorology and owns the “Seal of Approval” from the American Meteorological Society. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys working on his Mustang as well as collecting old horror movies.
