She is from Lawton, Oklahoma, and graduated from Cameron University in 2018 with a degree in Journalism and Media Production. Her passion for storytelling blossomed there, and she was able to share stories about Cameron University through its student-run newscast, CU News.
For three years, she worked as a producer while also reporting and anchoring. She interned at KSWO in Lawton during her final semester of college and worked there for two years after graduation as a weekend morning anchor, reporter, and producer before joining News 12.
