Jaclyn Shearer is an American Emmy award-winning meteorologist working at WXII-TV where she served as a weekday and weekend meteorologist. She joined WXII-TV in March 2021, after previously working at WSOC-TV.
In 2007, Shearer joined North Hills High School where she graduated in 2010. Later on, she joined Iona University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications in 2014. In addition, she has also studied at Mississippi State University where she graduated in 2016, with a Bachelor of Science in geosciences with a concentration in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology.
Prior to working at WXII-TV, she worked in Charlotte where she won an Emmy for covering Hurricane Florence’s landfall. She is a self-proclaimed weather geek who is also an active member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. Jaclyn also sits on a number of NWA committees and she has a passion for animal rights advocacy. She is also passionate about environmental projects, pursuing careers in STEM, type of mentorship, and literacy projects. During her leisure time, she enjoys working out, reading, and cooking.
