Jim Weber Biography

Jim Weber is an American meteorologist who is working at FOX 13 News. He joined the FOX 13 news team in February 1995 and can be seen airing weather news on weekdays at noon. 

Cincinnati, Ohio is his native home but when he was the age of nine his family relocated to the Tampa Bay area and he was brought up nearby Sarasota. In addition, he got his Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology in 1994 with a minor in mathematics from Florida State University.  As of the moment his skills are utilized by the National Hurricane Center.

Apart from his love for weather, he is also interested in computer science which has been an aid to his meteorologist career. It has enabled him to develop McIdas HD for use on TV and the web. Before helping him develop several tropical computer model animations and buoy data maps on the MyFoxHurricane.com website. Furthermore, he is a meteorological honor society Chi Epsilon Pi member and has been certified by the West Central Florida Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and the American Meteorological Society.
