Kara Sewell Biography
Kara Sewell is an American anchor who is working at WFAA. She serves as a morning news co-anchor alongside Marc Istook, meteorologist Greg Fields, and traffic anchor Tashara Parker at the station.
Kara Sewell Education
Sewell attended the University of St. Thomas in Texas in 2001, where she studied communication and media studies however left the university in 2002. Later in 2002, he joined Stephen F. Austin State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communication and media studies in 2005.
Kara Sewell Career
Houston is her native home and she began her broadcast career in Odessa, Texas. She has covered both the Democratic and Republican national conventions in the 2016 presidential campaign, reported from the heart of tornado alley, and had the privilege to share people’s remarkable stories.
She began her broadcasting career at CBS7 In February 2006, and while she was on the station, she served as the weekend evening anchor and reporter. In addition, she also contributed to the station website by writing web copy and uploading videos.
Later in September 2008, she joined KWCH-TV where she also served as an anchor and reporter. She anchored the half-hour morning newscast and anchored and coproduce a 30-minute noon newscast five days a week. In addition, she was privileged to interview; former First Daughter Jenna Bush, vocal artist and former Supreme Mary Wilson, musician Chris Mann, actress & author Tina Sloan, author Laura Moriarty, and comedian Rob Schneider.
Furthermore, she worked at FOX19|WXIX in Cincinnati, Ohio from December 2014 to December 2017. While she was at the station, she served as a morning news anchor. During her downtime, she can be found in the museum, traveling, watching a movie in the theater, and in yoga classes.
