Kim Stephens is an American Anchor working with KMPH Fox 26 and serves the station as a News Anchor. She also serves the station as a co-host of Great Day with Kopi Sotiropulos and Jim De La Vegas.

She earned her master’s degree in broadcast management at The University of Tennessee while working on her many community commitments. Her career began in 1988 when she graduated from Chico State with a degree in telecommunications.

She and Kopi began this trend-setting show in 2003 and are still going strong today. Her first job was at KERO in Bakersfield, where she progressed from morning anchor/reporter to weekend anchor/producer to weeknight anchor/reporter.
While working as a waitress during the day and even for a few months as a midday newscaster at KERN radio. She later relocated to the southeast, where she worked as the primary nighttime anchor at WBIR and WVLT in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Stephens was given the opportunity to return to California in 2000. She worked as a technology and business reporter and weekend news anchor at KNTV in San Jose. Stephens accepted the opportunity to launch a brand new weekly news and entertainment program, Great Day on KMPH, in order to improve her quality of life.
Aside from her duties on Great Day, which includes numerous community appearances, she also coordinates and produces monthly ‘One Classroom at a Time’ reports, in which teachers are surprised with a $1,000 grant to be used in the classroom. She also creates and hosts the local ‘Kindness Counts’ reports.
Kim, after completing her anchoring and reporting duties, works as a college professor to inspire and mentor students. She teaches News Writing and the capstone Newscast Production class at Fresno State and serves as a mentor at Pepperdine University’s annual ‘Camp News.’ Kim is a member of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences Board of Governors, which is best known for its TV News Emmy Awards.
She has one Emmy, three Emmy nominations, was inducted into the NATAS Silver Circle in 2014 for over 25 years in the TV news business, was awarded The Governors’ Service Medallion in 2017 for her volunteer work with NATAS, and received the Governor’s Citation in 2018. An Employee of the Year in 2004, Miss Congeniality in 2010, and Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 were all given to her by KMPH.
