Meg Oliver is an American correspondent and anchor working for CBS News. She joined the network in 2006 as the overnight anchor of “Up to the Minute” and as a correspondent for “The Early Show.” Oliver returned to CBS News in 2015.

Oliver became the CBS newscast, “Up to the Minute” anchor in March 2006. In 2009, she left CBS News to work for ABC News as a correspondent. She also filled in anchoring on ABC World News Now. In addition, she reported for Good Morning America Weekend Edition and ABC World News Tonight with David Muir.
She has over two decades of experience in reporting and anchoring. Oliver has been reporting on breaking news stories around the country and the world for the past two years. During this time, she was working the 24/7 newsgathering service for CBS stations and broadcasters around the world, CBS Newspath as a correspondent.
She has covered a story on the dive boat fire that killed nearly three dozen people, the opioid epidemic, the devastating wildfire in Paradise, California, and the number of deaths occurring at trampoline parks that go unreported. In addition to that, she featured an interview with a man who lost five family members.
While reporting for Newspath from London, she covered Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, and also the London Bridge terrorist attack. Furthermore, she reported extensively the story of a Florida teenager who ran away with her soccer coach. She was the only network correspondent to sit down with her parents after the teen was found.
Oliver became the correspondent and anchor for ABC News in 2009. In 2015, she returned back to CBS News as a freelancer anchoring on CBSN covering such breaking news as the San Bernardino shooting and the murders of WDBJ-TV anchor Allison Parker and her videographer Adam Ward.
Prior to joining the CBS News team, she worked for KGPE-TV, the CBS affiliate in Fresno, California. While there, she served the station as the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. anchor. Before that, she served at WKBD/WWJ-TV, a CBS-owned operation in her hometown of Detroit as an anchor and reporter. In addition to that, she worked for Northwest Cable News as a reporter earlier before. Her journalism career job began in Kalispell, Montana working for KCFW-TV. During her working time there, she served the station as an anchor and reporter.
