Peter Eliopoulos Biography
Peter Eliopoulos is an American journalist who serves as a reporter for WCVB Channel 5’s award-winning NewsCenter 5 team in Needham, Massachusetts.
Eliopoulos began his passion for journalism in elementary school. He admired being a reporter after a local meteorologist visited his classroom and talked about both weather and news.

Eliopoulos attended the University of Maryland and graduated in 2016 with a degree in broadcast journalism. In college, he interned at WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. from January to May 2015. He later interned at WHDH-TV in Boston, Massachusetts from June to August 2015. In August 2015, he also joined Fox News Channel Washington, District Of Columbia as an intern.

After college, he became a news anchor and reporter for Capital News Service in College Park, Maryland from January to June 2016. He also served as manager of Pomodori Roast Beef & Pizzeria in Ipswich, Massachusetts from September 2008 to September 2016.
In October 2016, Peter joined KFDM 6 & FOX 4 in Beaumont, Texas as a general assignment reporter. While there, he made coverage of Hurricane Harvey to the election of the first African American female sheriff in state history.
Leaving KFDM 6 in October 2016, he joined WTEN-TV (NEWS10ABC) in Albany, New York Area serving as a general assignment reporter until January 2020. During his time there, he covered the aftermath of a devastating limo crash that resulted in 20 fatalities. This is identified as one of the deadliest transportation tragedies in U.S. history. He also made a coverage of the MyPayrollHR sudden closure which left many in the nation without their paychecks. Eliopoulos joined WCVB-TV in January 2020 in Needham, Massachusetts.
