Tom Durian Biography

Tom Durian is an American Emmy award-winning anchor/reporter working at TMJ4 as a weekday anchor. He joined the station in February 2017. 

Tom formerly worked as an anchor/reporter in Milwaukee and is looking forward to returning to Brew City. He formerly worked as an anchor and reporter for KSTP 5 Eyewitness News in Minneapolis-St.Paul. He is an EMMY-nominated reporter who was a member of the team that won “Best Newscast” for their coverage of the death of Prince, a Minnesota native.

Tom was previously the co-anchor of CBS 58 Morning News in Milwaukee from 2011 to 2013. Politics took center stage in Wisconsin during his stay there. He covered the 2012 presidential election from Janesville to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, and then to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tom was also there during the horrific murders at the Wisconsin Sikh Temple and the Azana Salon in 2012. He formerly worked for KHQ in Spokane, Washington, and KMIR in Palm Springs, California, as an anchor and reporter. Tom has covered important breaking news stories throughout his career.

He has covered the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in New York, President Ronald Reagan’s death, the Michael Jackson child molestation trial, and Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts throughout the Gulf Coast. He is a vehicle aficionado outside of the “TV world.” When it comes to music, he prefers the greats such as Sinatra, Martin, and Crosby.

Despite his origins in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, he is a huge country music enthusiast. You might run into him at a neighborhood karaoke bar or in the crowd at Summerfest, singing some of his favorites. Durian has worked with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for more than a decade to collect funds for the 35,000 Americans who suffer from hereditary conditions.
