Erika Arias is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter who is currently working at FOX 61. She serves as the weekday morning news anchor from 7 am to 11 am. In addition, she joined the FOX 61 news team in 2009 and served as the 10 pm and 11 pm news anchors.
Her journalism career got a breakthrough while she worked at WPRI-TV in Providence, Rhode Island. Not long after, she started covering one of the biggest breaking news stories in New England. When a fire caught a nightclub in West Warwick, Rhode Island, she was the only local reporter to interview a nightclub survivor, live from inside the hospital.
Later on, she relocated to the west of Las Vegas and while she was there she covered; the Bellagio blackout, the Ted Binion murder re-trial, and the capture of “the Ohio sniper. In addition, she also interviewed a number of celebrities such as; Kobe Bryant, Anna Nicole Smith, Nikki Hilton, and Robert Redford. Furthermore, she was fortunate enough to appear in a movie titled “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous”
Furthermore, she has served as a freelance correspondent for the Fox News Channel covering entertainment events such as “American Idol.” Prior to providing live reports for FOX stations across the country such as Atlanta, Washington D.C, Boston, and Chicago, and interviews. In addition, she received a New England Emmy award nomination in 2010 for her outstanding news anchoring.
For her education, she attended Northeastern University in Boston where she graduated cum laude. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Asian American Journalists Association. Despite the fact that she was born in Stoneham, Mass, and brought up in California, she is deeply connected to Connecticut.
