Ken Amaro is an American Reporter working at First Coast News as an On Your Side Consumer reporter. He joined the station in the month of October 1979 while still in school.

Ken earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast management from Jones College in 1980. Since then, he has received two academic certificates from The Poynter Institute. Ken graduated from the FBI’s Citizens’ Academy in 2000. Jones College has also bestowed upon him an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.

Ken has hosted the annual Ken Amaro Bowtie Golf Classic since 2013, with proceeds benefiting Northwest Behavioral Health Services, a local non-profit dedicated to providing mental health services to people in underserved areas throughout the community. In this capacity, Ken investigates and reports on scams, swindles, and rip-offs. He assists viewers in problem-solving situations.
