Mike Beaudet Biography
Mike Beaudet is an American journalist who serves as an Investigative Reporter for WCVB-TV in Boston Massachusetts. He works as part of the “5 Investigates” team.
Beaudet has gained recognition for his hard-hitting investigations and specializes in stories about government waste and corruption. For his work, he has won several awards. This includes 16 New England Emmy Awards, and the New England Emmy for Outstanding Investigative Report in 2016.
He was awarded for a composite of stories, two of which were produced with Northeastern students in his investigative reporting class. The Associated Press and the Radio Television Digital News Association have also recognized his work.

Beaudet attended Emerson College and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication. Beaudet earned his master’s degree from Northeastern University in 2008.

Mike began his career as a reporter and anchor at NEWS CENTER Maine Media – WCSH 6 & WLBZ 2 in March 1993. He later moved to WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire, United States. He worked there until July 1996. Beaudet became an adjunct faculty for Northeastern University in September 2008. He also taught journalism at Emerson College.
In July 1996, Mike joined WFXT-TV in Boston, Massachusetts, United States as an investigative reporter. He spent nineteen years there. In September 2014, Beaudet became a Professor of Practice at Northeastern. In December 2015, he joined WCVB-TV’s investigative unit, 5 Investigates. The unit also comprises reporters Karen Anderson and Kathy Curran.
