Sharman Sacchetti is an American award-winning journalist who serves as a political reporter for WCVB’s NewsCenter 5 in Boston Massachusetts. Sachetti has covered the 2020, 2016, and 2012 presidential races as well as numerous political conventions and New Hampshire primaries.

Sacchetti began her professional broadcast career at WCCM-AM radio in Lawrence. She debuted her career on television as a writer at WHDH in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Sharman later moved to WETM-TV in Elmira, New York, United States becoming the main anchor. Sharman later served as a morning anchor at WTEN-TV in Albany, New York. In 2004, she returned to Boston working as a political reporter for WFXT, and later moved back to WHDH.
In February 2020, Sacchetti joined WCVB as a political reporter as part of the Commitment 2020 coverage. Announcing her arrival at the station on February 5, 2020, Paige Harrison, WCVB news director, stated “We’re pleased to welcome Sharman to NewsCenter 5. She is a highly regarded journalist in Boston whose experience covering government and politics will be an asset to our political coverage.” On her side, Sharman stated, “I am excited to join WCVB Channel 5, Boston’s news leader, a station well-known for its award-winning political coverage,” said Sacchetti. “It’s an honor to join the station that I grew up watching with my family every day.”
Sacchetti made coverage of the U.S. Senate race that followed after the death of U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy. She also covered the election of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren that followed. She made the record as the first Boston television reporter to speak one-on-one with President Joe Biden in 2020 during the presidential race. Sharman obtained an exclusive copy of the House bill to regulate marijuana sales in Massachusetts.
