Carole Meekins is an American Emmy award-winning anchor/reporter/host working for WTMJ – TMJ4 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a host of a Sunday morning show, a role he has held since December 2019. He began as a news anchor/reporter at the station in November 1991. For more than three decades, he has worked in television journalism.

Meekins serves at TMJ4 as a Sunday morning show. She has been a fixture in the Milwaukee market for the past 29 years. She hosts the “Positively Milwaukee Show, with Carole Meekins” and the 3:30 and 5:00 news. It airs on TMJ4 on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
Her first television position was as a co-host on KTVI in St. Louis’ “God’s Musical World.” Carole began her career in television news at KPLR-TV in St. Louis. Because Meekins was a former music instructor, it was an ideal entry into the television business. She has also worked for WAKA-TV (CBS) in Montgomery, AL, WRIC-TV (NBC) in Richmond, VA, and WEWS-TV (ABC) in Cleveland, OH.
Her weekly “Positively Milwaukee” updates highlight positive news and inspiring stories about people, places, and events in southeast Wisconsin. Carole was honored with an Emmy during the 2020 Chicago/Midwest Emmys. Outstanding Achievement for News Specialty Report/Series – Education/Schools was the winning category. Her Positively Milwaukee Award show received a first-place award from the Wisconsin Broadcast Association in May of 2019.
The Milwaukee Press Club has given the Positively Award show a Bronze Award. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognized Meekins by inducting him into the Silver Circle. The Milwaukee Press Club has inducted her into its Hall of Fame. The award honors persons who have made major contributions to Milwaukee journalism.
She is also a member of the Wisconsin Black Media Association and has been honored by the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists with an Award of Excellence. She also hosted a newscast that won an Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of breaking news.

She’s also received honors from the Mascoutah High School Hall of Fame, the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.’s “Women on the Move” award, the Milwaukee Area Girl Scouts’ Leadership Award, the St. Vincent De Paul Society’s Media Award of Excellence, the Milwaukee Community Journal Lifetime Service Award, the Milwaukee Streets of Peace Award, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
She is also a member of A-lego and serves on the Walker’s Point Advisory Committee, a Milwaukee-based social assistance group. In Milwaukee, the Holy Redeemer Church honored Meekins as part of a celebration of 100 Black Women. Delta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma, a sorority for educators, also gave her a leadership award. Meekins has conducted a lot of remarkable interviews during the course of her career.
President George W. Bush, President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Oprah Winfrey are among those honored. Carole has received various honors for her contributions to the community. St. Catherine honored her with a Sisters of Mercy award, and the founders of the Milwaukee Black Inventors Gallery honored her with a Living Legend Award.
Meekins is a member of the board of directors of the PianoArts International Classical Piano Competition, which takes place every year in Milwaukee. During her time at TMJ4, she was chosen to carry the Olympic Torch in conjunction with NBC’s coverage of the 2000 Olympics.
